More About Paula Brocklehurst

Hello I am Paula, Welcome to My Profile.

Thank you for taking a look at my profile, whether you are have been considering having personal therapy for a while, just want to find out more about me and the type of therapy I can offer or feel ready to take the next step. You can contact me for a free initial telephone consultation before making up your mind.

The 'therapist fit' needs to 'feel right' for you. Each one of us are completely unique individuals, essentially therapy needs to be tailored to each persons specific needs to work best.

Therapy is a very personal journey for each individual and needs to be shared with the right therapist for you. From the initial meeting the therapy needs to 'feel right' for you. I am passionate about working therapeutically with clients and tailoring therapy to each individual clients specific needs. I am committed to offering the highest standards of professional care and quality psychological services. I am an experienced Psychotherapist who practices in the very best interest of clients.

From my therapy service you can expect a safe, non-judgmental space to talk about difficulties along with consistently high standards of care, professionalism and confidentiality. I have a wealth of experience as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist within a wide range of health care settings including Nottinghamshire Healthcare in both Secondary and Primary Care, Improving Access to Psychological Therapy services (IAPT), Employee Assistance Programmes, MIND, University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University. I am a dual trained accredited Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I am an experienced Clinical Supervisor in Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy. My therapy rooms are based locally in the Mansfield area close to the town centre. The consultation rooms are discreet, comfortable and private with plenty of on-site parking.

I understand how important it is to feel at ease and comfortable talking to a therapist and appreciate the courage it takes to seek support. I can offer a safe and confidential space to share personal problems, difficult emotions and feelings that you may not want to talk to other people in your life about. Sometimes it helps to talk to a therapist who can be completely impartial and without worrying or holding back for fear of upsetting or burdening close family or friends. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is of paramount importance, research has consistently shown evidence that the relationship is an essential contributory factor to positive therapeutic outcomes across all different types of therapy delivered.

I am passionate and dedicated to providing a confidential, safe, respectful environment where you will be accepted unconditionally without ever feeling judged. I feel very privileged to work with client's and listen to personal life stories. Very often therapy can make a real positive difference in peoples' lives. I aim to provide the conditions where clients can feel at ease and confident enough to confide in me and share their personal problems and life experience. I have worked as a therapist for many years and I still have the same real sense of satisfaction when a client has found therapy beneficial.

I have 14+ years experience practising as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist within a wide range of mental health care settings including the Voluntary Sector, NHS Secondary and Primary Health Care Teams, Improving Access to Psychological Therapies, Hospitals, Hospices, Employee Assistance Programmes, College and University. I am a Dual Trained Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, fully BACP & BABCP Accredited. I also provide Clinical Supervison to qualified and trainee Counsellors/Psychotherapists and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists.

I practice in the Mansfield Nottinghamshire area from both private and comfortable locations.
